The girls on SR are doing a sewalong, and we’re making the Princess wrap. I’m going to use that lavendar rayon lycra I bought a few years ago for this version.

This top is really easy (note, I edited this post on Memorial Day weekend, when I actually finished the top). I finished it during my daughter’s naptime, sewing in Grandma’s sewing room.  Hence the beach photos!

I hope to also take a day off next week for myself (or even just a half day) and do some sewing. I am within two hours of finishing the denim jeans (excluding topstitching) and then I’d like to muslin the princess coat, and get that made. It’s still coolish spring out. I’ll be taking apart my muslin, spray-sticking it to the boucle to stabilize it, and then serging the entire coat. I thought about lining, but want this to be an indoor sweater-feeling jacket when I am done. I’d like to get it done in the next week. And I hope to do this on my day off next week. I’ll have to plan it out (and am still waiting for a few things to shake out, work-wise, before I do it).

I’m loving the sewing right now, really. I can’t believe how much fun I’m having. Mainly I’ve been making the TNT patterns, and I wonder if that’s really the key: accessories or TNT.

I have on my (well-fitting, but soon to be even better fitting) CJ trouser pants. This pant, wider leg at the hem, drapey fabric is MY style pant. I  had on a similar fit in a Ralph Lauren cream silk yesterday and I am convinced this is it. It may be time for the Italian windowpane wool, too. I’ll make a couple more pairs of pants and then decide from there.
