Fall trends

I’ve received at least a dozen newsletters advertising fall trends – from SewStylish magazine, to Simplicity patterns, to Vogue to She She Me and Style Bakery. So, let’s see. Boyfriend jacket. Check, have that one in a slim cut from the 1990s. Skinny jeans. Check, but I’m pretty darn sure they don’t fit, so I’m wearing slim cut boot cut jeans and hoping they pass muster since buying (or even making) new jeans for this size body is really useless. Military cargo jacket. Hmmm. Don’t have this particular trend. Cowl neck anything – yep, and I’m making a mobius cowl scarf for my neck. Surprising trend – ponchos are back (along with capelets, yay!) I love this loose wrap look – it’s elegant in a ruana over trousers or a poncho over jeans or a capelet over a slim skirt.

And for my peanut and pumpkin? Peanut is getting the Sew Baby twirly pants and top in a mix of japanese cotton quilting fabrics, and Pumpkin, all 3 months going on 14lbs of him is getting a vintage Burda romper made from a cute dinosaur print knit.

First up that sling, and two bags, one for me, one for the auction. Both must be done by the 23rd so I’m getting cracking this weekend.
