Sew Paradise

fashion in odd places

My brain dreams up funny things. Last night I dreamed that you could order classic clothes, basics, at McDonalds! Yes, indeed. Three styles of pants, a hollywood waist, a tab waist boot cut and skinny pants with your Big Mac. In three colors, blush, cream and black. With basic sweaters and tops to match. It was all very strange. They’d give you a catalog, you would pick out what you wanted and they’d give you a bag of your things with your fries & a Coke. A combo meal?

Anyway, the night before I dreamed I was making traditional clothes – you know, long skirts, ruffled long sleeve blouses? Only edgy – the skirts were deep dark denim with raw edged ruffles. The blouses had a high ruffled neck, and horizontal ruffles down the front, all raw edged dark denim. Amish meets high fashion.

I'm Ann. I've been sewing since I was 9. My first project was a denim wrap skirt. Thrifting is a way of life for me - both eco-chic and financially savvy.
