I tried being a minimalist…

and loved it! Today, we were headed for the East Lansing Art Festival. I was wearing my favorite nursing-friendly cream jersey knit dress. It’s a pretty knit dress, looks marvelous with my celadon green silk sling. So I wanted a minimalist bag, knowing I’d be carrying it. Online I found a video, for cloth diapering, about diaper bags. It’s a nice, informative video, and it really got me thinking, how much do I need?

So I used my Annie’s Tote bag, with the turquoise and blue side out, I carried a onesie, 1 diaper cover, two inserts (doubled with liners already folded in place), a zip loc bag with cloth wipes, and a squirt bottle with water. I also packed a small tube of sunscreen, a plastic grocery bag (for the dirties), a sling and some cash. That’s it. The bag was amazing! Light, stylish, delightful! Of course I wished I’d have had some lip balm, and forgot my phone, but otherwise, it was perfect!

There are a few things I’d like to sew: a cloth diaper ‘pod’, a wipes bag, a changing mat (that’s larger than the one I have) and a travel ‘high chair’. But that’s for another post. And, probably, another bag!
