Sew Paradise

My Boutique

I decided last night, as I did a load of sweaters on delicate, that I could open a clothing store just with the contents of my closet. And then I thought THAT is precisely why I love my favorite secondhand boutique – there are not twenty of the same item various sizes, everything is absolutely unique. And how I could do the same sort of inspired organization of my clothing as they do. I do a decent job. And in reality, I cannot have a dress form in the corner of my bedroom (too small).

Anyway the challenge before me is to wear new combos of things. Today, this is all new combo – a pale pink v-neck sweater, gray wool twill pants, black leather jacket and pearls! It’s sort of sexy/conservative.

Sometimes when I do my pumping sessions (I’m a nursing mama at work) I often write out wardrobe capsules to kill some time. Am I weird? Obsessed? Possibly. Having fun? Certainly!

I’ve also been concepting new handbags (part of my think positive mantra – if I think about these good things in my life then I will attract joy – and these things – into my world).

Well, my boutique won’t open any time soon but that would give new meaning to ‘shopping in your closet’ .

I'm Ann. I've been sewing since I was 9. My first project was a denim wrap skirt. Thrifting is a way of life for me - both eco-chic and financially savvy.
