Princess jacket 427

I sewed a great version of the princess coat 427, in that yummy raspberry and cream boucle I bought at Christine’s studio open house last fall. It was easy! In fact, I was not even nervous to sew a jacket (gasp!) at all this time! It came out wonderfully, too. I sewed over the buttonholes with embroidery thread, giving a vintage feel to the jacket. I underlined it in white muslin, which stabilized the loose nature of the boucle. It still has a sweatercoat feel, but it’s decidedly upscale jacket. I love it!

The sewalong starts this week, and while I’m not done with my denim trouser pants, I’ll fit them in over the weekend and start the top early next week, I think! If I can just get enough energy together in the evenings, I’d have two hours to sew every night! Even if I only did an hour….I’ll make a commitment, twice this week after E. goes to bed to sew for an hour. That’s my goal.
