sewing vacation

I am planning two weeks worth of sewing and vacationing. Peanut needs a half-dozen or more pairs of training pants (from a pattern I can buy online). Mama has a whole list of other things. First up, the Tango white and black ruffled knit fabric into a cardi. I want to do a button band, and have found some dark red cotton lycra that might work. I also found a partly-sewn shell that would also combine nicely, if I used the ruffled trim along the neckline and sleeve edges.

Then, the super simple banded waist wide-leg pants in white ITY knit (yes, a summer pant, but hey it’s the LAST two weeks of summer, darn it!)

After that, a few transitional pieces:  matte jersey capsleeve simple dress from Elizabeth Lee Designs (NC303), and I will make this one nursing access. A gold casual top out of my new Kwik Sew 3616 pattern, and the Riviera Cardigan out of the teal knit.

I think this selection of five (six) pieces will be fun to sew, not too hard (mainly serger work) and use up some stash. Peanut may well get a kids’ dress out of some of the leftovers from the japanese print (I brought NC302, the toddler dress pattern).

I love sewing vacation!
