Weekend sewing projects

I’m taking up the CJ 1010 pants, and the BWoF wide leg pants from the 10/2008 (special design) issue. I’m making the latter in a ‘muslin’ of mini houndstooth from years and years and years ago. I’m also taking up a bright red & black swirl print to make the CJ Princess Seam top – all projects that can be serged with black thread! (There is a method to my madness). Pending the outcome of the houndstooth, I will plan to make the Italian windowpane wool version (in one of these two trouser pants I’m sewing this weekend). Finally!

some of these fabrics have been in stash for a decade. That’s just sad, or scary. I’m glad to be sewing this weekend, and taking some of my tried & true patterns with me too!

I know I have blogged about this before, but there are parts of me that think i should only sew with TNT patterns, at this time in my life. but you know I’ve accomplished a lot of skill-stretching projects – a lined jacket, a lined cape in plaid – this year, and done quite well with them.
