Sew Paradise

where oh where has my sewing time gone?

Not at home today, and have a busy week so the sewing is currently on hold. I have three cut-out projects to sew so that’s a head start. i can be right at the machine working in a flash if needed. But I haven’t yet found the time.

I think Time to Sew (that perennial problem which we all have) is a fallacy. I think you make time, you eek out time, you carve out moments. I could sew after the babe goes to bed, but that’s my tired time and there’s nothing worse than screwing up a project and having to go to bed stewing about it. You know I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night to fix projects! I think that’s a perfectionist disease.

But it’s good for me to create and to do things that use my hands and brain in a new way. So I try to carve out whatever time I can to do what I need to.

I'm Ann. I've been sewing since I was 9. My first project was a denim wrap skirt. Thrifting is a way of life for me - both eco-chic and financially savvy.
