First the cardiwrap now the cardicoat

Yes, indeed. It’s like Hoodie, only Cardi. So first we have the cardiwrap, and now we have the cardicoat (the sweatercoat). Which I love. love, love, love. Especially for fall. So tomorrow, cardicoat, big scarf, boot cut pants and my yoga flats (casual client meeting at 930)

And that gets me thinking – I could sew a new cardicoat – maybe one of the wool jerseys in my stash? Surely there’s a shawl collared sweater jacket type thing in my stash (or could be altered) with a belt, I could make some fun sleeves – gathered sleeve caps, bell sleeves, gathered sleeve bands?

I came home with a lot of great ideas for sewing for my mom and mother in law for Christmas. As well as dad, brother, niece and nephew, sister in law and brother in law. It’ll be a largely handmade Christmas. Peanut is getting some costumes, a few outfits, and probably art supplies. Hubby’s getting handmade, too. The house is getting handmade.

I decided on the french doors. We don’t want something permanent there, so I decided on curtain panels that will have loops on the back. Hubby will put some small hooks on either side of the doors’ edges and we’ll hang the panels when guests come to visit, take them down when they go home. A couple of curtain hooks, a curtain rod and a curtain for the open doorway to the hall. Make it wider than the door so the curtains can be pushed back during the day. That, too, can be taken down when not in use. Simple.

But back to my cardicoat thing. I have two of them right now, three if you count my nursing version. So that’s enough for now. Sew something else.
