Sew Paradise

Is it summer yet?

I am having summer pangs this morning. Yes, it’s been a beautiful spring, really. But I want summer! I can’t wait to sew up the brown babydoll top with beaded straps (from the Simplicity pattern – which I will post a photo of soon) and wear that with my Hot Patterns Sugar Babe drawstring linen pants and (hopefully) new cork wedges.

It’s the quintessential beachy outfit I envisioned when I was in Florida. And I have shells to make into necklaces, and the pale aqua glass beads I bought in Delray Beach. It may be time to do some beading this weekend – I’m off Friday – Monday.

So that brings me to Friday – Memorial Day Weekend, unofficial start of summer. I’m off, and i think it’ll be a good day to get a bit of sewing done with the baby. Trace off a couple patterns and pin-fit the tissue (make a muslin of the pants – I’m fairly confident the dress will fit with a tissue fitting.

I'm Ann. I've been sewing since I was 9. My first project was a denim wrap skirt. Thrifting is a way of life for me - both eco-chic and financially savvy.
