It’s cape season…

and I’m glad it’s blue and white plaid, which seems fresh, and springy, but yet, can be worn when the temps are in the 40s. This is that weird shoulder season where I want to wear striped bateau neck tops with cream pants and bright flats with a silk scarf around my neck, but the weatherman says 30-something when I leave the house. So tomorrow, I’ll break out my cream wool pants for one more go round (maybe the last one this season?) and the cape, and wear my blue cashmere crewneck with that scarf – it’ll be springy enough in color, but warm enough for the temps. I will probably still wear the navy peeptoe heels, though, cold weather nonwithstanding!

I’m glad I sew on so many levels. Creativity, building something with my hands, fashionista tendencies. I wish I had more time for ALL my hobbies, but hey, that’s the way life goes! I do get a lot done, I wish I had more energy later in the evening, I guess. Though, really, knitting takes no energy, and I can do that in the evenings! I should get out my knitting bag and do something (like that baby poncho I started) tonight.

Spring fashion is the season of fresh colors but long sleeves, of fun coats and silk scarves. Peeptoes and flats but not sandals. And it’s just good that the snow is gone!

I think I should move handbags up to the top of my list this spring, I could use a fresh new handbag.
