Sewing weekend and some swimwear trends…

I have a sewing weekend coming up, but alas, my local JoAnn’s didn’t have enough of the fabric I wanted to make curtains for our new son’s room. I can probably order fabric in time for the weekend’s sewing for the living room, assuming I do this today.

My backup plan (is it really a backup? we shall see…) is to sew two pair of maternity pants – using the Christine Jonson Travel Trio One front seamed bootcut pant with a banded or yoga waist. I really need some pants and have some lovely wool jerseys that would be perfect right now.

And on the trend note, I am seeing a lot of bandeau swimsuits this summer. I love my nursing access bandeau tankini and am thinking I might have to make another for this year, in a print. though I may actually modify this so it’s an actual bandeau swimsuit (not tankini) with an overlay. We’ll see. That’s a lot of ambition for a pregnant mother of a very busy almost three year old besides.

What I really want to (need to) is to sew some bags. Maybe THAT should also be on my to-do list this weekend. Samples.
