I often turn to Anthropologie to gain inspiration for sewing things. One of these days I’ll actually be NEAR a store to go in, but mainly I look at the online catalog version and ogle. This spring is no exception, and here’s a lovely cardigan that I think I should draft a pattern for. Looks like a swing cardi with a draped hem. What I love is the print, and I’m sure I can find a lovely printed knit in Christine Jonson Patterns’ spring fabric collection to make this out of. The model wears it over a dress, I think this would be equally lovely over pants as well. It looks like one of those April days when the clouds come in and out, more dappled sunshine than full sunshine, a hint of chill in the air, but warm sunshine, breeze blowing. That smell of spring, rich earth, warm sun and new green popping up. I can smell a day like that from when I was about 10 years old, in my yard at my parents house in West Bloomfield. I remember the smell, the warm smell, the clouds (and pondering the concept of partly sunny versus partly cloudy).
