Hot Patterns, to be exact. The Metropolitan Homage Tote, the Riviera Boulevard Cardigan-jacket, and the Weekender Renaissance tops.
I am thinking the red home dec for the Homage tote (or possibly the faux ostritch), the Boulevard cardigan jacket in a wool doubleknit, and the Renaissance tops in some funky knit prints. The tops have an underlay which I’m going to leave (hopefully) not fixed, so I can nurse easily. But we’ll see how low cut the necklines are.
And today as I was driving, I thought about how I have, say, two black turtlenecks – totally not needed. It’s about coordinating – not matching – so I don’t need more than one of any one thing.
These are my birthday patterns. And I clearly must continue sewing, because the pant and skirt issue are going to rear their ugly heads. Only a few stores in town carry the small sizes in secondhand stuff, it’s not as common as the larger sizes.
I’ll be curious to see how your renaissance top turns out…. mine was a disaster… HUGE and way too drapey/saggy in the front…. I lost interest and tossed it out. The picture is cute though!
I’m told that many of their patterns are running large – and I think I read in one of their newsletters (or maybe online) that they size for RTW size, so I might make a muslin in somewhere near a 6 or 8, instead of my pattern size. Thanks for the heads up! I hope I don’t end up hating it too 😉
