Christmas…

Santa brought me a gift card to JoAnn’s and a gift certif to Vogue Fabrics (actually, hubs got me both, isn’t he a sweetie? I have a lot of fabric, but he knows I’ve been sewing a lot too…) I also got a nifty hem gauge, can’t believe I’ve lived without one for this long. I plan to go get a sleeve roll and tailors’ ham with my gift card. Maybe some kiddie knits for leggings for the babe.

And I got the fancy winter boots, yay!

So it was a wonderful day of gift giving – but what made it nice wasn’t the things I got, but the things my toddler got – and loved! She wasn’t too enamored of the sling OR the doll dress, that I made, and I think the hooded robe will be lukewarm too. Rather she loved the stroller grandma bought for her dollies, and her Dirt Devil vacuum and dustbuster! I think she’ll come around on the sling eventually, after all, she did try to put the baby carrier that was part of the stroller set on her back 😉

So, now it’s off to thinking of sewing projects – I have the two in progress projects – fleece tights and wicking tee.

My goal for early winter is fun long sleeve tops. Probably mainly Christine Jonson tops – the princess wrap, and the tie back top. Also the Hot Patterns v-neck top.

For Florida sewing, a new pair of wide leg pants in a faux linen. I’m tired of real linen shrinking on me, frankly. I’ve got two too-short linen pants I’ve made in the past 2 years, but the too-large oatmeal faux linen ones are going on ten years. Maybe a top out of the japanese cottons.
