That’s all I wanted. Sunny, bright florals! I had my spring pilgrimage to Vogue, courtesy of a gift certif from hubby and got what was on the list. I also, practically, got two twills, for shorts and pants. So in total:
peach, gray, white and olive green floral
blue, yellow, turquoise and purple bright floral
purple and magenta floral on pink ground matte jersey. A big, brushstroke-y print.
a ballet-pink twill (to make the Vizcaya jacket)
a buttery cream twill (to make the CJ trouser pant, wide leg version).
And a remnant, a polyester chiffon in a watercolory with jacquard overlay print in tropical brights, to make a scarf.
All in all, it was a great shopping trip and I spent only $3 above my gift certificate.
The peach floral could pair well with the Vizcaya jacket, so I think I need a sleevless blouse of some sort. I’m thinking tie neck blouse here. But it might be just as well some sort of gathered or multi-pleated jewel neck. I’m debating – nursing or not (the toddler still nurses a LOT).
The pants and shorts are essentials this summer, and I will have enough to make shorts out of both twills. I am thinking bermuda length shorts, something a bit more upscale (these colors aren’t the sort you wear knocking about gardening, after all.)
I’ll have to do some designy work but I think I have the top’s idea down.
