Yeah, I got locked out of Target for Missoni last week. So sad! What is it about those crazy zig zags that made everyone nuts? Dunno, but I am working on a zig zag of my own, a resurfacing of a 20+ year old UFO clutch. The technique is called Bargello, it’s basically needlepoint with yarn. I have some errors to fix eventually. I was thirteen at the time. And now, I’m 42, and just tired. But it’s easy to fix the errors, just go back in with yarn and fill in the stitches.
I also made the Christine Jonson Patterns draped cardigan alteration to the Bell Sleeve Wrap top. It came out lovely,
and I plan to wear it tomorrow to the annual studio open house that Christine has every year. It’s not nearly as much fabric as some draped cardigans (which I both like and dislike). I can’t have too many of these, so I will also sew the one with the big draped collar from BurdaStyle’s 9/2011 issue, too. (the page is in German; they don’t have the magazines archives on the English site. I’m brushing up on my German, ha!) That’s not a hiccup in sewing on the left shoulder, but a big flower pin that I have stuck under there for use when I photograph outfits with pants. And the photo’s grainy – basement, with smartphone. My digital camera needs a wifi connection! I’ll have a nicer version tomorrow from the studio open house.
Tonight I cut out the Megan Nielsen Perfect Nursing Top in a pink, coral and purple floral print with purple nursing underlay. It’s going to be lovely. I promised myself I’d sew more nursing tops, while I still can!
