I’m considerably smaller this pregnancy so far, and unless I really start packing on pounds, I won’t get to where I was until late in this pregnancy. Which means those corduroys aren’t going to see much use! So I’m digging out the maternity patterns I wondered if I’d ever use, and sewing.
I almost just sat down to cut out fabric, and thought, whoa, let’s have a plan. So I identified that I could use 3 tops, 2 pants, a dress and a skirt, in addition to jeans. So here’s the current plan:
One each from the two Simplicity OOP maternity patterns – a top, a pant, a skirt. One dress from a vintage maternity pattern my mother says she found in my grandmother’s stash (unknown if she made them for herself or for her daughters’ pregnancies.)
Jeans. A maternity version of the 3 Graces Tee
A transition set – dress, skirt, pants, top and loose cardigan in knits that can go from May and June’s big-belly to July and August’s post-partum belly.
And nursing pajamas. Mainly for summer, in light cottons and seersucker to start with. Something pretty and light.
And in between all of this, sewing for my little girl and my new baby’s layette!
