their new Riviera line debuted today. Ooh la la. Now I’ve only ever made 3 patterns by them (muslin tested a fourth, under construction). But I love the line. This one is, as it’s name implies, a resort-wear collection of great trousers, tops and cardis. they even have my super fave maxi cardi. YUM. Now last spring I altered a BWOF top that was too large, not my style into a cute ruched tube top. It goes with some wool doubleknit (yes, I know, a tube top with wool pants??) and a lofty waffle knit. so I could get away with the cardi over the doubleknit pants and tube top on a spring day with lots of promise but not a lot of warmth.
Jeez. so many patterns! so much fabric! So little time, aargh!
But what I do need to do this weekend is cut out my new handbag for the contest. I signed up because I knew I needed to design a bag after I’d lost all my patterns – to get back in the groove again and make something. I selected a copper duppioni scrap, some slate blue suede and funky wooden handles.
So what is my new mantra? move my stuff – move my sewing table to the living room (get the foldable stool) before miss E. goes to bed. Move my cutting supplies to the dining room before miss E. goes to nap. Cut out while she’s awake, sew when she’s asleep.
And really take advantage of weekends. And the Ergo too – she loves hanging with mama.
