So again last night, in search of a pattern (the Hot Patterns Pants to Die For) which I never did locate, I got that overwhelming feeling of “so much to do, I’ll never do it!”
I have decided that since my time is not unlimited, I will make a priority list of things that I think should enter my wardrobe.
Breastfeeding-friendly clothes. I’m leaving this semi-open, but one of my bigger regrets is I felt poorly for half of my second pregnancy (and on bed rest for half of the first) so I never sewed most of those maternity patterns I wanted to. So I don’t want my nursing patterns to suffer the same fate.
Mom-friendly knits. I am fortunate to have discovered and to love Christine Jonson Patterns (and her beautiful knits collections). They always sew up beautifully and incredibly fast. They wash well and are stylish. I also have other knits patterns in my stash from Hot Patterns, Vogue and New Look. Knits = easy.
Stuff for the kidlets before they get too big. Burda, Ottobre & Sew Baby.
So that’s my limitus test. If you’re in that category, great. Otherwise you’re relegated to pattern stash for a while. ( I can feel the other ones crying out “pick me! pick me!” even as I type this.) The vintage ones, the ones I haven’t sewn but have always wanted to, the ones that I made once and vowed to make again.
And I always reserve the right to change my mind!
