I sewed the side seams on a simple baby dress, and the darts and yoke of the BWoF tunic from the 7/2008 issue (108). I didn’t cut enough yokes to self line them, but that is OK. I serged and topstitched. I’m trying it on later to see if indeed I need an invisible zipper all the way up the back. It seems very overkill. It fits very nice, on the pin-up try-on. Just like I expect Burda would – not too roomy, but a tunic, so not too tight either. Just right. I will have to put bias binding on the neck edge, though, because without the lining, there’s no edge finish. But that’s OK, that’s an easy addition. I will have to buy some or see if I have enough from my other dress (it’s cream, is that weird or will the contrast be fun?) or maybe I will look in Mom’s stash here and see what SHE has!
