You see these all the time on Pinterest or on ads or on AMZN – the luxury lounge set. It’s a knit top, pants and a wrap or vest. Here’s my take on it with things from my closet, and sewing patterns I recommend to recreate this look!
I see these all the time online – both on Amazon and on PInterest and in ads on my feed. You probably do too. They consist of some knit separates shown with a rolling carryon or a soft floor cushion and a journal in their styling. You can wear them for both.

Luxury Lounge or Luxury Travel Sets to Sew
My favorite sewing patterns to recreate these looks (and probably some you have in your pattern stash!)
Pants: These are high waisted wide leg knit pants. I love the Paula Set from Ukranian Designer Julia Dudas (here on Etsy). But ANY high waisted wide leg pants you have in your stash will work fine too.
The key thing is high waist. I also love a no-side seam high waisted pull on pant and if you do too (no pockets to weigh you down), you can create this by abutting the side seam lines of any pattern piece front & back and cutting around the outside shape of the whole leg. Then it’s just 2 pattern pieces and you can make them in (I am not kidding) 20 minutes. That’s faster than laundry!
The sweater is a funnel neck and there are some good versions of this out there. The Paula Set itself has one in it, so you can start there. I also like the Toaster 1 Sweater from Sew House Seven and I’ve heard sewists rave about the LB Pullover too.
The wrap is super easy – it’s a curved shape. This one has a center back seam, I’ll post dimensions and a FREE sewing pattern for you. This one is knit, but you can use the same sweater/knit fabric as your outfit. You could knit with needles something like this too. I’m not a knitwear designer so I can’t help you there but I will post some patterns that might look like this. It’s not quite a ruana shape, more of a wrap shawl shape.
Now, let’s say you are traveling to or in a warm climate, but still want something cozy for plane travel (or car if you’re driving somewhere to the warm). I recommend a sleeveless knit top (with or without a funnel neckline). You can do a quick hack of any of the above patterns to make this work for sleeveless, or pull a pattern out of your stash to use. Use a lighter weight knit in a bamboo or tencel for drape and cooling comfort.
Some of the sets include a cardi/blazer type of thing with a big foldback front collar and neck, and you can make one in a stable knit using the Ginger Jacket pattern from Sew Daily Makers. Use something stable in a knit (no stretch except mechanical) and leave it unlined, but make the inner and outer collar pieces, interface them with knit fusible interfacing and then stitch the inner collar down to the jacket for stability. Sewing Workshop makes a jacket like this, so does Jalie. The Helene has a draped shawl collar version.
Make these in a trio of neutrals, like cream/taupe/black/gray or make them in a rich aubergine, navy or teal for a little more color. I’ve even seen them in pastels like blush, pale blue and mint green.
